Visa request

Last month the Chinese government tightened their visa laws because of the upcoming Olympics and Paralympics. This change has resulted in a maximum possible stay of 20 days, instead of three months, for tourists.

Apart from the shortened travel period the rules for applying for a visa have been sharpened.

To apply for a visa at your local Chinese Embassy, you need:

> an official invitation letter*
> a complete portrayal of your trip including proof of flights in and out of the country, a detailed description of your travel route, and proof of your hotel booking(s)
> your passport
> a recent photograph
> a completed visa application form

* To apply for a visa, you need an official invitation letter from the Chinese authorities. The organisers will coordinate and forward the information of the application to the Chinese authorities for issuing the invitation letter.

More information regarding visa regulations can be found on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Events.

Please keep in mind that visa application will now take even longer, so we advise you to arrange your visa now to avoid disappointments.
